Stuart Volleyball Starting Strong

The Stuart Broncos got off to a good start in the 2023 Volleyball season. In the opener Twin Loup traveled to Stuart and the Broncos were able to take them in three sets on a very hot evening.

Saturday the girls traveled to Plainview for a tournament and had a great day beating the three opponents that they faced. The first game was against Boyd County, girls started off slow but got stronger as the game went and were able to beat them in two. 

The next game was an exciting game with Boone Central, good set ups and strong serving were the key to this two set win. 

The last game the girls were a little tired but fought a hard battle against Plainview. The girls lost the first set but came back in the second and won the second set 28 - 26. It was still a battle in the third but they were able to get it done.

Leading in the Twin Loup game was Regan Stracke with 11 kills and one block; Lacey Paxton four aces and nine kills and one block; Addie Ketteler five kills, three ace serves and 15 assists; Brynn Almgren one kill, one ace serve, six assists and one block; Elly Steinhauser three assists; Cecelia Addison four ace serves and Megan Karo one assist.

On Saturday,  Aug. 26 the Broncos faced off against Boyd County winning in two sets, 25-18 and 25-13.

Leading the Lady Broncos was Paxton with three ace serves, five kills and 11 digs; Stracke two ace serves, eight kills and four digs; Ketteler three ace serves, two kills, 13 assists and eight digs; Addison Steinhauser three kills and three ace serves; Almgren one kill, five assists and two digs; and Addison four ace serves.

In the game against Boone Central the Lady Broncos won in two sets winning 25-17 and 25-19.

Leading the Broncos was Stracke with nine kills and eight digs; Paxton seven kills and six digs; Ketteler two kills, 12 assists and six digs; Steinhauser three kills, three blocks and two digs; and Almgren two ace serves, seven assists, one block and four digs.

In the last game of the week the Broncos took down the Plainview Pirates in three sets 11-25, 28-26 and 25-20.

Leading the Broncos was again Paxton with four ace serves, 16 kills, two blocks and 11 digs; Stracke six kills one assist, one block and 14 digs; Ketteler two ace serves, four kills, 17 assists and 11 digs; A. Steinhauser one kill, one ace serve, one assist, one block and five digs; Almgren one kill, seven assists, three blocks and 11 digs; E. Steinhauser 13 digs.
