Stuart Boys Come Out On Top In Close Match

Jan 11, 2023 (0)

The Stuart Broncos competed against the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors last Saturday. This was a very close match, coming down to only a few points difference in the end.

From the start, the Broncos took an early lead, ending the first quarter ahead by six points. The Warriors were looking to turn things around and pushed through to earn themselves a two-point advantage in quarter two.

Quarter three was a tie- granting neither team with a much needed advantage. With the Warriors so close to the Broncos, it was anybody's guess who would be the victor in this match. Moving into the final quarter, each team tried it's best, but when the buzzer rang, the scoreboard revealed the Broncos were able to keep their lead intact. The final score was 50-45.

Leading the Broncos was Schuyler Mustin with 17 points and nine rebounds; Kayde Ramm 10 points; Drew Schmaderer seven points; Anthony Heiser six points; Ben Paxton four points and six rebounds; and Will Paxton four points.

“I thought we had trouble establishing any tempo on offense and struggled with discipline on defense. The boys found a way to fight through and get a win. I need to be better communicating what I want from them. We will work hard to get better in these situations.”
