Shana Bryant

Sutherland ­— Shana Lee Bryant, 42, of Sutherland, formerly of Inman, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 at Arbor Care Center in Fullerton.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Memorial services were held Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at the mortuary in O'Neill.

Burial will be in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Shana was born on May 28, 1979 in O'Neill, to Kevin and Patricia (Watson) Plugge. She attended country school near Atkinson, Inman Public Schools and O'Neill High School.  

She attained her CNA (certified nursing assistant) license at 16 and began her life-long love of helping others through nursing.

Shana married John Bryant on Feb. 28, 2003 in North Platte. To this union four children were born Hannah, Jennifer, Nathan and Alexis.  

She worked at several nursing homes before she worked at Great Plains Hospital in North Platte for several months before her first stroke when she was 29 years old.  

She loved her job and being a mom. As her health deteriorated, Shana was cared for by her family and the great nurses at Arbor Care Center in Fullerton.

Family time was very important to Shana. She loved family get-togethers. She loved watching cartoons and movies with her kids, which prompted her first major purchase, a big screen TV before they were everywhere. She also could be found many evenings at the park with her kids. 

Shana is survived by her four children Hannah (Joseph Thiem Jr.) Bryant of Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer Bryant of Hartford, SD, Nathan Bryant of Hartford, SD and Alexis Bryant of Hartford, SD; two grandchildren Josiah Thiem and Everett Thiem; her mother Pat Plugge of Sutherland; three siblings Kimberly (Yancy) Krol of Stromsburg, Patrick (Alison) Plugge of Sutherland and Avrielle Kohl of North Platte; maternal grandparents Stan and Betty Watson of O'Neill; paternal grandmother Beverly Plugge of Norfolk; John Bryant of Hartford, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Kevin Plugge in 2016; one brother Matt Plugge in 2002; one sister Sharla Plugge in 2015; and one nephew Logan Cullen-Plugge in 2002.
