Ronald S. Laible

Creighton ­— Ronald Stanley Laible, 81, of Creighton, formerly of Shelby and Stuart, died Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Avera Creighton Hospital.

Visitation was held Monday, April 6, 2026 at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Bloomfield with a wake service.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the church in Bloomfield. Fr. Marcus Knecht officiated.

Burial was in the Magnet Cemetery in Magnet.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield was in charge of the arrangements.

Ronald, son of Felix and Chestra (Rzeszotarski) Laible, was born Oct. 16, 1944, at Stuart. He attended Stuart Public Schools. 

He was blessed with six children, Hally, Angela, Tom, Dustin, Laurie and Shane.

Ronald worked as a truck driver while residing in Shelby. 

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Ronald enjoyed bowling, camping, hunting and attending his grandchildren's events.

Ronald is survived by his six children Hally (Kurt) Ziegler, Angela Weber, Tom (Gina) Laible, Dustin (Lori) Laible, Laurie Steinhauser and Shane Steinhauser; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; his three siblings Jerry (Karen) Laible of Arkansas, Jim Laible of Nebraska and Casey (Tammy) Laible of Kansas; and three stepchildren Charlotte (Dan) Alt and Eugene Metteer, all of Shelby, and Joseph Peery of Sioux Falls, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce, two grandchildren Dakota Ziegler and Alexis Laible, one stepdaughter-in-law Dori Metteer and one step-grandson-in-law Blaux Harris.
