Rodney Dean Porter, age 53, of Lincoln, formerly of Atkinson, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Lancaster County Corrections in Lincoln. A memorial service was held on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Atkinson Good Samaritan Center Chapel in Atkinson with Pastor Wayne Owens officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson. Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson was in charge of arrangements. He was born on April 14, 1959, in Atkinson, to Lester and Bernice (Holdren) Porter. He was educated through the tenth grade. Rodney is survived by his mother, Bernice Porter of Atkinson; two daughters, Tonya Hightree and husband Alan of Omaha and Crystal Streweler of York; one son, Corey Porter and wife Jennifer of Omaha and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Lester, one brother Leslie and an infant brother.
