Robert Lewis Mueller

CHAMBERS - Robert "Lew" Mueller, 76, died Monday  July, 29, 2024. at the Monarch House in Lincoln, Nebraska.

A Memorial Mass for Robert “Lew” Mueller was at 10:30 am on Friday, August 2, 2024 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill.  Father Bernard Starman officiated. 

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements. 

Robert Lewis Mueller was born on July 14, 1948 to Ruben and Evalyn (Barbour) Mueller in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in Stuart, Nebraska and attended school in Stuart, Nebraska until he was a junior then his family moved to Randolph, Nebraska.Lew graduated from Randolph High School in 1966.Lew attended Chadron State where he met Ann Seier when they caught the same ride home for spring break.

Ann and Lew married on January 23, 1971 in Petersburg, NE. Lew then graduated from Chadron State with his Bachelors in Teaching, in the spring of 1971. To this union two children were born Pamala and Christian. The couple moved to Harrison, NE where they both taught for three years.To this union two children were born Pamela and Christian.The couple moved to Chambers, NE in 1974 where Lew would teach High School Science. He retired in 2011 due to health reasons. 

Lew was a volunteer fireman for the city of Chambers for many years, also served as the Village of Chambers Board President. He was also an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Amelia.

Lew enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a score keeper and an announcer for many football games. He also enjoyed camping and traveling to many places, shooting, and watching pool, he also enjoyed hunting prairie dogs. He was also an avid Husker fan. 

Lew is survived by his wife Ann Mueller of Chambers; two children, Pam (Chris) Brown of Brady, NE and Chris (Keri) Mueller of Basehor, KS; seven grandchildren, Dylan (Pammela) Brown, Wyatt Brown and McKinley Brinegar, Jacob Owens, Josh Owens, Micah Coleman, Hudson Meuller, Sophie Mueller; three great grandchildren, Gracie Brown, Benson Owens, Ava Owens; sister, Anne (Ken) Green of California; brothers, Leigh Mueller of North Carolina, Lyle (D'Lane) Mueller of Texas, Guy (Linda) Mueller of Arizona, David (Beth) Mueller of Washington; many nieces and nephews.

  He is preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Connie Mueller; nephew, Michael Mueller.
