RC&D & NRD Awarded Grant For Tire Amnesty

The Upper Elkhorn NRD and NC NE RC&D Council has been awarded a $115,720 grant from the Nebraska Dept of Energy and Environment (NDEE). 

With this grant notice, plans will move ahead to hold a spring 2024 Tire Amnesty event in Newport. The grant is for the collection of 600 tons of tires from the region including all counties along north central Nebraska. 

"Just submitting the application would not have been possible without the partnership of the Upper Elkhorn NRD, the Rock County Board Supervisors, the Newport Village Council, Rock County Agronomy and Stuart Fertilizer.
