Omaha — Patricia "Pat" Josephine Brion, 81, of Omaha, formerly of Ewing, died Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Visitation was held Sunday, June 7 with a vigil at the Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler Mortuaries & Crematory in Omaha.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 8, 2026 at St. Peter de Alcantara Catholic Church in Ewing.

Burial was in the St. Peter Cemetery in Ewing.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Patricia was born Sept. 29, 1944 to Bill and Arlene (Schiffbauer) Hobbs in Ewing. She was the second of nine children, and her sons have fond memories of their large family gatherings. It was upon this foundation that she honed her own legacy of hosting innumerable family celebrations.

Pat graduated from Ewing High School in 1962, marrying Ronald Brion that same year on Dec. 23rd at Ewing's St. Peter's Catholic Church. After Ron graduated from UNL in 1965, they made their home in Ewing and began their life as parents. Over the next 15 years they had seven sons, each of whom she was fiercely proud. 

In 1979, the family began their decade of ranching, settling north of O'Neill. Pat continued to be active in church and prayer groups, joyfully playing her 12 string guitar and singing songs of worship and praise. Pat never wavered from her belief in God, asking until she could speak no more, for Mother Mary's intercessions.

In 1989, the couple moved to Lincoln, later spending a few years in Kansas City, KS, returning to Lincoln where Ron lost his battle with cancer in 1999. Pat then built the home in Omaha that she lived in until the moment of her death. Her house became the absolute home for her family and she truly orchestrated so many fantastic memories. Pat enjoyed holiday and seasonal decorating, both indoors and out, with the absolute constant décor of the always growing number of photos adorning walls and shelves, each displayed as a testament to her love of family.

Whether it be in her impeccably decorated home at Christmas, or by the patio fireplace for a spontaneous football watch party (Huskers and Chiefs), Pat always loved being surrounded by family. She was often found throwing flour on the counter for her famous homemade noodles, or heating up oil for her perfectly fried chicken. The Brion boys laugh about growing up watching her barely being able to keep up with the number of pancakes or hamburgers it took for her to feed them.

In 2004, she was blessed to meet Joe Robino. They married March 21, 2009, at St. Thomas More, in Omaha. His two adult children became cherished family members, joined by Joe's numerous siblings and their families.

Pat shared her creative spirit by playing the organ and singing for her family. In her 70s, she learned the art of china painting, and was able to gift many hand painted treasures.

In 2016 an autoimmune disease left her suddenly and completely dependent on dialysis. She hated every moment of it, but with Joe administering her treatments at home for the last several years, they could get through it together, watching daily Mass, praying the rosary, and maybe catching up on just a bit of news.

Her strength, determination and perseverance were always so evident, up until she could fight no more.

Grandma Pat will be remembered for her loyalty and devotion to her faith, her incredible generosity and most of all: her indeterminable love and dedication to her family.

This isn't goodbye, it's see ya later.

Patricia is survived by her husband Joe Robino along with her sons, his children and all their families: Ron (Joan) Brion and their children Kayla Brion and Brandon (Alison) Brion; Bill Brion; Stan (Gina) Brion and their four children Chase Brion, Meghan Litz and her children Dawson and Kane, Jillian Brion (Gisselle) and Noah Brion; Nick (Darby) Brion and their children Gavin (Adeline) Brion and their son Bennett, and Blake Brion; Jason (Leah) Brion and their daughter Grace; Paul (Bridget) Brion and their daughters, Lilly, Alana and Kaitlyn; Dave (Beth) Brion and their children Hailey and Collin; Karissa (Jeff) Riesselman and their children Charlie and Kaya; Joey Robino (Dakota); she is also survived by a great host of siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews that are too many to list, but each loved and remembered.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Arlene Hobbs; her stepmother Judith Hobbs; her in-laws Dick and Laverne (Walter) Brion; her husband Ron Brion Sr; her brother-in-law Jack Fry; sister Sharon Steskal; brother Duke Hobbs; brother-in-law Kenneth Brion; and granddaughter Brooke Brion.
