The O'Neill Lady Eagles have started their 2022 season and are sitting at 1-1 with a loss to the Elkhorn Valley Falcons and a win over Boone Central.
In the girl's first game, the match was long and challenging, as both squads fought for the win going five sets.
The Eagles won the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-23. For the next two, the Lady Falcons stepped up their game, winning 25-19 and 25-14. The Lady Eagles lost their fight in the fifth, losing 15-8.
Wreece Liewer led the Eagles with 23 kills, one block, and one set assist, and 21 digs; Autumn Hilker 16 kills, one block and 12 digs; Ashley Sidak 13 kills, two ace serves and eight digs; Olivia Young six kills, two blocks and 10 digs; Haley Schluns one kill, one ace serve, one block and 15 digs; and Keeley Chavez one kill, three ace serves, 37 set assists and 20 digs.
On Thursday, Sept. 1 the girls took on Boone Central, knocking them out in three sets, winning 25-18, 25-21 and 25-23.
Liewer led the girls with 17 kills, one ace serve and one block; Sidak eight kills, one ace serve and four digs; Hilker seven kills, four blocks, one set assists and six digs; Young two kills, one block and 15 digs; Chavez two kills, one ace serve, 14 digs and 28 set assists.
