O'Neill Girls Capture Team Title At Ainsworth Invitational

The O'Neill girls track and field team delivered an outstanding early-season performance on March 27, capturing the team championship at the Ainsworth Track Invitational while earning numerous top-six finishes against a competitive field.

Leading the way on the track, O'Neill's 4x100-meter relay team of Blakely Sudbeck, Madelynn Heiss, Tenzlie Sorensen, and Serena Chavez sprinted to a first-place finish in 53.43 seconds. The Eagles also captured gold in the 4x800 relay, where Taya Dickau, Hannah Hilker, Reagan Kaufman, and Gracie Treptow combined for a winning time of 11:21.53.

Individually, the Eagles saw strong performances across multiple events. In the 200-meter dash, Madelynn Heiss placed third with a time of 27.87. Taya Dickau added a third-place finish in the 400 meters (1:09.95), while Reagan Kaufman took third in the 800 meters (2:47.28) and teammate Madison Nolan followed closely in fourth.

In the sprints, Blakely Sudbeck placed second in the 100 meters (13.77), while Tenzlie Sorensen and Taylee Wade also competed in the finals. O'Neill showed depth in the 400 meters as Bristol Engelhaupt secured a sixth-place finish.

The Eagles were equally impressive in the field events. Mariah Kallhoff claimed the shot put title with a throw of 37 feet, 7.25 inches, and added a first-place finish in discus (113' 1"). Jozy York contributed with a sixth-place finish in shot put and fifth in discus.

Madelynn Heiss continued her standout day in the long jump, winning the event with a leap of 16 feet, 9.5 inches. Taylee Wade (third) and Bristol Engelhaupt (fifth) also placed in the top six. In the triple jump, Serena Chavez led a dominant O'Neill showing with a first-place jump of 32

feet, 6 inches, followed by Tenzlie Sorensen in third and Addison Engelhaupt in fifth.

Blakely Sudbeck added another highlight by winning the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, while Calli Tomjack tied for sixth.

O'Neill also found success in relay depth, placing fourth in the 4x400 relay and third in the sprint medley relay.

With strong performances across both running and field events, the Eagles' depth and consistency propelled them to the team title, setting a promising tone for the remainder of the season.
