The O'Neill girls track team made the trip south to Grand Island Northwest High School on Thursday, April 20th to participate in the Dave Gee Invitational. The Eagles competed against some of the best competition in Nebraska and fared well. Presley Heiss continues to have a great junior year as she set a new personal best in the 100m dash with a time of 12.59, which moves her to number three all time at OHS. Heiss also ran well in the 200, winning the event with a time of 26.92. Presley also was joined by Madison Shoemaker, Zori Koehler and Serena Chavez to finish fourth in the 400 relay. Freshman Taya Dickau also had a great day running her personal best in the 1600 with a time of 6:02.98 to place 5th. Taya was joined by Autumn Hilker, Ashley Dickau and Mollie Corkle to place 2nd in the 3200 Relay with their new personal time of 10:39.71. "I love coming to this meet because we can see where we stack up against the best of the best in Class B in Nebraska. Overall we had 14 girls who had personal bests this meet and that is what we are looking for, improvement. Presley had another amazing day and continues to get faster and more confident each week," said coach Mike Peterson.
