Eagle Drew Morrow tries to save the ball from going out of bounds in action against St. Paul at the O'Neill Holiday Tourney. The Eagles won 72-39.

The O'Neill Eagles hosted the St. Paul Wildcats last Wednesday. The boys match was a landslide Eagle victory, bringing them to a 50 percent win to loss ratio.

The first quarter the Eagles came out with a thunderous boom, showing the Wildcats they weren't messing around. In the second, the Wildcats fared better against their opponent, but it was only good enough for a tied score for the quarter. The Eagles were still ahead by 16 points going into half.

Quarter three the Eagles dominated, and by this point pretty much sealed the match. The Wildcats had just one last chance to turn it around, but Unfortunately for them, the Eagles had their hands tied. They took the fourth quarter and the game.

Drew Morrow steals the show with 24 points, shooting four of eight three-pointers for 50 percent and six of nine two-pointers for 67 percent, as well as two rebounds; Landon Classen 15 points and five rebounds; Kyler Dean eight points and four rebounds; Ryder Pokorny seven points and three rebounds; Tyler Diediker six points and three rebounds; Turner Heiss six points and two rebounds; Grant Dusatko four points; Easton Kopecky  two points and two rebounds; Trevor Alder two points and one rebound; and Colton Osborne eight rebounds.

The O'Neill girls have earned themselves their first win of the 2022-23 basketball season. They hosted the St. Paul Wildcats on Wednesday. Quarter one was a close start, with the Eagles taking the lead by only three. The Eagles banded together and managed to take the second quarter also, making this a pretty one-sided match by this point.

Quarter three was a pretty back-and-forth set, but the Wildcats were able to snag the win, but only by one point. This minor victory came too little too late, as the Eagles would also claim the fourth set, ending the match and proving the Eagle girls power.
