Norris L. Anson



Norris L. Anson, age 61, of Ewing, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his home.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. There was a 7 p.m. prayer service with Pastor Wayne Smith officiating. 

Funeral services were held Thursday (today), Jan. 3, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Ewing, with Robert Moore officiating. Music was provided by John Petersen.

Pallbearers were Kenny Steskal, Jack Sisson, Mike Summers, Darrell Allumbaugh, Del Potter, and Charlie Perkins.

        Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. 

Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater was in charge of the arrangements.

Norris Lynn Anson was born on Nov. 6, 1951, to Lester and Opal (Bredehoft) Anson in Norfolk.  Norris grew up in the Battle Creek area where he attended school. 

On Dec. 2, 1972, he was united in marriage to Patricia Hubel in Battle Creek.  They just recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.  They had two sons, Lester and Adam.  

After their marriage the couple moved to Elkhart, IN, where he worked at Federal Press. The next year they moved back to Ewing and he began driving truck for Jack Sisson, Sr.  In 1976 he bought his first truck and eventually had up to eight trucks leased to Hunt Transportation.  In 2006 he leased on and drove truck with Graber Trucking. In January of 2008 he sold his truck fleet that was leased to Hunt Transport. He continued to drive his truck that he drove and leased to Graber Trucking in Ewing.                                                                            

He enjoyed fishing, camping and  spending time with his grandchildren and family. He also liked working at his shop and  beer 30ing with his buddies.  

       Norris is survived by his wife, Pat of Ewing; two sons, Lester and wife, April Anson of Pierce and Adam and wife, Kelsey Anson of Clarkston, WA; three grandsons, Blaine, Parker and Samuel, and one in the oven; brother, Myron “Mike” and wife, Chris Anson of Clearwater and sister, Brenda Watson of Ewing.

        Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Opal and  grandparents, Vera Anson and John and Martha Bredehoft.
