Norman Wayman, age 83, of O'Neill, passed away Saturday eventing, July 28, 2012, at the Norfolk Veterans Home.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in O'Neill. Rev. Craig Collins officiated and music was provided by organist, Terry Kloppenborg and singers, Kirby and Kelly Kloppenborg.
Burial was in the O'Neill Prospect Cemetery. Military graveside rites were conducted by O'Neill V.F.W. Post 926 and O'Neill American Legion Simonson Post 93.
Pallbearers were Roy Kloppenborg, Irvan Wayman, Lauri O'Neill, Joyce Miller and Neil and Torry Kloppenborg
Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.
Norman was born August 1, 1928, in O’Neill to Edwin and Ruby (Boldra) Wayman. He married Ruby Kloppenborg on August 29, 1953, at O’Neill. He was a Korean War Veteran, and he was stationed in Germany for two years.
He lived in O’Neill his whole life. He farmed and then operated Norm’s Trenching Service for 45 years. Norman was also the owner of East Side Laundry for 13 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and V.F.W. Post 926 in O’Neill.
Norman is survived by his wife, Ruby; three daughters: Marjorie Sperling and husband, Dennis of St. Paul, Diane Balderson and husband, Kevin of O’Neill and Darlene Linden and husband, Stanley of Cairo; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ivan Wayman and wife, Iona, of O’Neill; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or to V.F.W. Post 926.
