Nicole made a surprise early arrival on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1975 in Atkinson, to Jim and Karen (Hotz) Lunn. She was quickly flown to Omaha before a snow storm hit the area. Nicole lived with her mother and attended school in O'Neill at ESU 8 until she was 21. In 1995, Nicole started to receive care from Region 4/Northstar Service and brought light into the lives of her friends and staff for over 30 years. She was an entrepreneur who sold jewelry and hair products at craft fairs and even owned a couple of candy machines. She enjoyed singing, having books read to her, celebrating monthly birthday parties and date nights, especially with Dan Woods. Nicole was always ready for a van ride, especially if it was somewhere to eat, like a picnic in the park or any of our area's restaurants. She also liked to help cook and liked to voice her opinion. Recently, she got to experience Virtual Reality trips through a headset that she really enjoyed. She loved to attend church at the Assembly of God Church and will be greatly missed by her church family. Nicole is survived by her two sisters, Katie Flower of Wayne and Abbie Flower of O'Neill; an aunt Ginny (DJ) DeJager of Rapid City, SD; her guardian Jim Gotschall of O'Neill; Northstar staff Pat Drobny, Wanda Dougherty, Kelli Carson, Audra Parks, Colleen Bordovsky, Christi Coventry, Jeanne Miller, Amanda Dow, Jen Borer, Chrissy Yates, Jeni Burival, Lisa Pearson, Brenda Schmeichel, Shavaughn Sickels, Stephanie Fritz, Catilyn Cline, Lizzie Schilousky and many other NorthStar staff and other special connections; and close friends Dan, Craig, Cindy, Tracy and Robin. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
