The Frontier & Holt County Independent will move this week to a new location. The Newspaper Office will move across the street to 117 N. 4th in the Tom Herzog Law office building. The paper will occupy three offices on the North side of the building. The Independents' current building is being sold. "Since we don't print the paper on site here and haven't since 2011, it only makes sense to move into a smaller building that is more economical for our needs," Said Publisher Terry Miles. The Independent has been in the current location since 1965 when the paper occupied a building they had built in the 1950s in the Interstate Banks parking lot. In 1965, the First National Bank razed its old building and needed the Independent's lot for its future drive-thru. The land cost was the current building and the Frontier News Paper it occupied. Before that, the paper was located in the basement of the old First National Bank building. The paper will change its mailing to P.O. Box 360 as of next week. (0) COMMENTSWelcome to the discussion.
