Spencer — Max Dean Alberts, 60, of Spencer, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024 at Niobrara Valley Hospital in Lynch. Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 at Biglin's Mortuary in Spencer with a vigil service. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spencer. Fr. Bernard Starman officiated. Burial was in the Ainsworth South Cemetery in Ainsworth. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Max was born on March 19, 1964 to Howard Alberts and Shelia (Fernau Alberts) Bejot in Vallejo, CA. The first years of Max's life was spent traveling and living in many states with his family. They lived in California, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Nebraska and everywhere the Navy took them. In 1976 they moved back to Ainsworth to stay. Max attended Ainsworth Schools and cherished his time and friends from the class of 1984. Later on he moved to O'Neill. He enjoyed league bowling and was a great supporter of the American Legion Baseball. He was always excited when Ryan would throw the “Falcon.” Max worked at Buche Foods while they were in operation in O'Neill. The time he spent at Buches Foods was a memory that lasted a lifetime for him. Max never knew a stranger. He loved to talk and visit with people everywhere he went. He made a lot of friends throughout his life, many who held a special place in his heart. On July 19, 1997 Max married Kimberly Klinetobe in Butte. They lived in Butte until 2018 when they moved to Spencer. Max volunteered at the Boyd County Senior Center for several years. There he earned the title of Ticket King. While at the center, Max enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo, shooting some pool, working on the group puzzle and of course, all the visiting with everybody. The most important things to Max were his family and friends and his fur babies. (Even though, some may say, the Nebraska Cornhusker might outrank them). Max is survived by his wife Kimberly Alberts of Spencer; mother Shelia Bejot of Ainsworth; father Howard (Linda) Alberts of Long Pine; three stepsisters Joanne Voegler of Albuquerque, NM, Susan Albue of Scottsdale, AZ, and Christina (Rory) Lavery of London, England; four aunts Roberta Painter of Springview, Cheri Fernau of Ainsworth, Pat Larsen of Atkinson and Susan (Justin) Brickner of Valentine; one uncle Lindley (Barbara) Larsen of Creighton; four fur babies Bubba, Lady, Kali and Hally; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Joseph Bejot; mother-in-law Mary Helen Klinetobe; grandparents George “Bud” and Arlene Alberts, Lee and Donna Fernau and Ernest and Sadie Larsen; four aunts and uncles Larry Painter, Leonard Fernau, Mary Anna (Larry) Sharp and JoAnn (Norman) Howard; and two cousins Cash Sharp and Karma Painter.
