Mary J. Genereux

Mary Janelle Genereux, age 79, of Bartlett, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at her home.

Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, from 4-8 p.m., with a 4:30 p.m. Catholic Daughter rosary and an 8 p.m. parish rosary, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, Father James Netusil officiated. Music was provided by pianist, Paula Havranek and soloist, Kay Stepp.

Pallbearers were Louis Genereux, Art Genereux, Rob Ita, Dillon Larby, Tim Larby and Craig Dobias.

Honorary pallbearers were Hunter, Chase and Jaeger Genereux, Hailey and Trenton Genereux, Samuel and Robyn Ita and Emily, Ashley, Tyler and Kathleen Larby.

Burial was in the Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett with graveside services at 2 p.m.

Mary Janelle Hynes was born on Jan. 11, 1933, in O'Neill to Matthew and Helen (Rotherham) Hynes. She graduated from St. Mary's in O'Neill. She met Louis Arsene Genereux and they were married on Jan. 20, 1953, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. 

She was a hard working wife, helping around the ranch. She was also a mother and grandmother. 

Mary was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of America, she also taught catechism classes at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Ericson. She was a member of the Clover Blossom Extension Club for many years and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Louis; son, Art Genereux and wife, Karen of Bartlett; daughter, Julie Genereux Thompson of Norfolk; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Katherine Spitzenberger of Omaha; and three brothers, Bill Hynes of Falls Church, VA, Matt Hynes of O'Neill and Terry Hynes of Omaha.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Pat Hynes and one sister, Margaret Hynes Nissen.

Memorials may be made to AseraCare Hospice or the Carson Cancer Center.
