Martha M. Silvers

Martha M. Silvers, age 93, of Kearney, formerly of Stuart, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Mother Hull Home in Kearney.

Visitation was one hour prior to the Mass of Christian burial held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart. Father Luke Steffes officiated the service. Burial followed the service at the Stuart Cemetery in Stuart.

Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney was in charge of arrangements.

Martha was born on Feb. 11, 1920, in Atkinson, to Alois and Mary (Decker) Babl. She attended school in Newport. She married Grover Silvers on Oct. 15, 1942, in Long Pine. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sons: Terry Silvers and wife, Judy of Kearney, Darryl Silvers and Donna of Lincoln, Duane Silvers and wife, Sheila of Kearney and Tom Silvers of Lincoln; daughters, Sue Peterson and husband, Dean of Axtell and Pam Silvers and Scott of Kearney; one sister, Louise Bivins of Plainview; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Grover; one son Brian; an infant daughter; two brothers and five sisters.
