Lorris Osborne, age 95, of Atkinson, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at her home in Atkinson.
Visitation was held from 3-9 p.m. with a 8 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at the Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson.
Funeral services was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Atkinson with Rev. Bonnie Formey and Pastor Dean Seger officiating. Music was provided by organist, Bonnie Krysl and Rossanne Schilz.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Roland, Steve, Corey, Adam, Mark and Joel Osborne; Marcus and Matthew Curley; John and Jamie Sweet; Robert, Jared and Bryce Osborne.
Honorary pallbearers were Janelle Wallinger, Stephanie Thomson, Jacqueline Steinhauser, Cristina Kinser, Melissa Weller, Julie Austin, Michelle Curley, Fred Dunn, Gene Weller, James Curley and Gary Lech Sr.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson.
Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson was in charge of arrangements.
Lorris was born on June 17, 1916, in Atkinson, to James and Lena (Gosser) Kubart. She attended two years of college and was a rural school teacher.
Lorris was united in marriage on June 28, 1939, to Vincent Osborne in Atkinson.
Survivors includes her children: Jeanette Sweet of Denver, CO, Kenneth Osborne and wife, Margorie of Atkinson, Rodney Osborne of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis Osborne of Norfolk, Cathy Weller and husband, Gene of Virginia Beach, VA, Mike Osborne and wife, Kathy of Norfolk and Cynthia Curley and husband, Jim of Douglas, WY; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harlan Kubart and wife, Dorothy of Atkinson.
Lorris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vincent; one son, Larry; two brothers, Carlton and Charles Kubart; two sisters, Rinnie Gans and Almeda Berry; and one son-in-law, Richard Sweet.
