Lily Marie Shearer

Lily Marie Shearer, age 86, of

Stuart, passed away on Saturday,

May 21, 2011, at Parkside Manor in

Stuart.

Visitation was held on Monday,

May 23, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at Seger

Funeral Home in Stuart with a 7:00

p.m. rosary.

Funeral services were held on

May 24, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart.

Father Luke Steffes officiated. Music

was provided by Deb Kaup, organist

and the St. Boniface Church choir.

Lily "Lil" Marie (Hytrek) Shearer

was born on April 28, 1925 to Stanislaus

(Stencil) and Mary (Miksch)

Hytrek in Stuart. She attended Stuart

Public High School where she graduated

as the valedictorian of the class

of 1942.

After graduation she taught rural

school for one year than worked in

Munitions plant in Grand Island until

she married Richard "Dick" J. Shearer

on June 30, 1945 in Omaha. To this

union six children were born.

Lil was very active in both her

church and the community. She was a member of the Stuart Booster

Club, a 4-H Leader, Extension Club,

American Legion Auxiliary, Legion

Auxiliary Chorus, St. Boniface Christian

Mothers, St. Boniface Church

Choir, CCD Teacher and Stuart High

School Band Boosters. She worked

as a CNA and a CSM at Parkside

Manor for 35 years until she retired

at the age of 75. She was very caring

and patient with the
