Lanone Bosn


Lanone Bosn, age 92, formerly of O'Neill, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Lawrenceville, GA.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, from 4-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill with Rev. Jim Kramper officiating. Music was provided by pianist, Toni Schneider and the St. Patrick's Funeral Choir.

Pallbearers were Jennifer Stewart, Michelle Khamis, Greg Stewart, Tabitha King, Janell Stewart, Brandon Stewart and Caitlin Geary.

Honorary pallbearers were Lanone's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the O'Neill Calvary Cemetery in O'Neill.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of arrangements.

Lanone was born on Oct. 13, 1920, in O'Neill to G. E. and Beatrice (Murphy) Miles. She grew up in O'Neill, graduating from St. Mary's Academy in 1938. She attended Duchesne College in Omaha. She worked at the Ordinance Plant in Grand Island during the war.

She married Ray Bosn on May 21, 1945, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. They spent their married life in O'Neill until moving to Georgia in 2010.

Lanone was a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She also served and was a founding member, along with Mae Hickey, of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary .

She is survived by her five children: Kathy Manoucheri and husband, Jeff of O'Neill; Rey Bosn and wife, Donna of Mineral Springs, Texas; Julie Stewart and husband, Mike of Lawrenceville, GA; Janet Geary and husband, Alan of Lonetree, CO, and Dick Bosn of Scottsbluff; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lowery of Atkinson; two sisters-in-law, Colleen Miles of O'Neill and Edith Miles of Wolbach; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents; two brothers, Robert and Shorty Miles; daughter-in-law, Susan Bosn and  granddaughter-in-law, Andrea Manoucheri.

Memorials may be sent to St. Mary's School.
