Lady Eagles Slide By West Holt With Free Throw

O'NEILL'S RYLEE SELBY drives to the bucket against Norfolk Catholic.

The O'Neill Eagle girls keep chugging up the road of success sitting 16-2. The Eagles defeated Norfolk Catholic 57-30 and West Holt  50-49. The game against the Huskies was down to the timer when two shots from the charity stripe by  Taylor Young gave the Eagles the one point victory.

The Eagle girls trailed at the half

26-23 but the Eagle offense came through in the fourth out scoring West Holt 17-11.

Bergyn Classen scored 15 points to shooting five of 18 in field goals and shooting five for five in free throws; Mariah Kallhoff had 14 points shooting seven of 11 for 64 percent and one steal; Taylor Young had 10 points and shot 100 percent from the free throw line; Hannah Hilker and Mady Heiss each had four points with Heiss having four steals; and Rylee Selby had three points on the night.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27 the Lady Eagles hosted Norfolk Catholic and came out on top 57-30.

The Lady Eagles got out on top from the get go out scoring the Knights 29-15 at the half. The Eagle girls didn't stop holding the Knights to three in the third quarter before the bench got playing time in the fourth. 

Hilker got 21 points shooting 41 percent from the field; Classen had 10 points shooting four of 14 from the field; Heiss and Selby each contributed four points; Blakely Sudbeck had three points from the line; and Hailey Fick and Mia Lindsay each contributed two to the cause.
