Lady Eagles End Season Against Battle Creek

The O'Neill Lady Eagles wrapped up their season with a subdistrict 44-40 loss to Battle Creek. 

The Eagles faced and beat Battle Creek early in the season, 47-38. The loss puts a saddened end to the Lady Eagles' 19-5 season.

The Eagles led at the half 21-17 but were outscored 27-19 in the second half.

Hannah Hilker scored 15 points for the Eagles and scored 10 points in the two point realm shooting 33 percent and three of four in free throws for  75 percent, Hilker had two rebounds and two steals; Mady Heiss had nine points shooting 33 percent from the field and shot two for two for free throws; Rylee Selby, Bergyn Classen,  Taylor Young and Mariah Kallhoff all had four points;Selby had four rebounds and one steal; Classen had four rebounds; Kallhoff had 13 rebounds and three steals; and Sorensen had one rebound.

With the crushing defeat, the Eagles are forced to surrender their season play. They had a strong run these past few months, putting up 19 wins to just five losses. They held a 12-win streak from Dec. 12 - Jan. 20. They had a high-scoring game against EPPJ of 83-57.

Seniors on the team were Rylee Selby, Bergyn Classen and Serena Chavez.
