After a booming start to the season, the Lady Eagles seem to be on a decline when they fell 2-0 last week against Boone Central and Crofton. Thursday, Feb. 5, was the first match against Boone. The Eagles struggled to keep up the whole way through, being kept down the entire game. The Eagles trailed 28-17 at halftime and never managed to find their footing before the day's end. Bergyn Classen led with 10 points, shooting two of three three-pointers for 67% and one of six two-pointers for 17%, as well as four rebounds and two steals; Rylee Selby right behind with nine points, two rebounds and one steal; Mariah Kallhoff had eight points, five rebounds and one steal; Taylor Young had five points, three rebounds and two steals; Hannah Hilker had five points, one rebound and two steals; Mady Heiss had two points and four rebounds; Serena Chavez had one point; and Tenzlie Sorensen had two steals. From the onset, it seemed this match would follow in the direction of the their last encounter. The Eagles pushed through a staggering 29-19 by halftime, giving them the big advantage. Some mistakes in the third let the Warriors pass by and brought the score to 44-38, still in the Eagles favor. In the finale things took a drastic turn, and the Warriors officially surpassed the Eagles, forcing them to concede despite the strong start. Hilker had a great stride with 17 points, shooting one of six three-pointers for 17% and five of 12 two-pointers for 42%, as well as four rebounds and five steals; Classen had 11 points, four rebounds and one steal; Kallhoff had 10 points, seven rebounds and one steal; Young had nine points and three rebounds; Heiss had four points, four rebounds and four steals; Selby had two points and two rebounds; and Sorensen had one rebound.
