The lady Eagles are an unstoppable force this season, and last week they remained on top. They hosted Ainsworth Thursday, Jan. 15, for a chance at a 10-win streak. It was looking like the Eagles would have it their way from the start when they pulled ahead 16-9. A further 16 points put the Eagles firmly atop the podium going into half. Keeping pace, the Eagles continued their rampage up to the final moments when they dropped the competition 67-37. Bergyn Classen was the MVP with 20 points, shooting two of three three-pointers for 67% and six of 15 two-pointers for 40%, as well as eight rebounds and four steals; Hannah Hilker had 12 points, two rebounds and three steals; Mariah Kallhoff had eight points, six rebounds and two steals; Taylor Young had seven points, one rebound and one steal; Rylee Selby had six points, five rebounds and two steals; Mady Heiss had six points, three rebounds and three steals; Serena Chavez had six points, one rebound and one steal; Reagan Lindsay had two points and one rebound; Blakely Sudbeck had three rebounds; Mia Lindsay had one rebound; and Hailey Fick had one steal. From the onset, it looked like it could be a struggle, with the Huskies falling by just a single point. The Eagles answered back by pulling ahead by a further six points in the second quarter. The following stanza was the deciding factor of the game, with the Eagles giving their visitors a 26-11 beating they won't soon forget. With no chance left now, the Huskies were forced to admit defeat to the dominant Eagle team. Hilker pulled out all the stops with 20 points, shooting three of nine three-pointers for 33% and five of seven two-pointers for 71%; as well as one rebound and two steals; Classen behind with 16 points and one rebound; Young had 10 points and four rebounds; Kallhoff had nine points, 10 rebounds and one steal; Heiss had six points and six rebounds; Selby had six points and three rebounds; Fick had three points; Gracie Treptow had two points and two steals; Tenzlie Sorensen had one point; and Sudbeck had one rebound.
