The Lady Eagles traveled to Wayne for a golf invite last Thursday. As a team, O'Neill scored a 409 and placed fifth. Wayne, Columbus Scotus and Pierce claimed the top three spots with scores of 376, 384 and 398, respectively. A couple of highlights from the O'Neill girls included Claire Popkes getting a personal best with a score of 94 and tying for seventh place; Cece Minarik stying under 100 again at 98 and placing 10th; and Kaylin Gaughenbaugh also tying for 10th with a 98 score. The rest of the O'Neill girls placings were Rachel Hupp in 51st place with a 119 and Hailey Scofield with a 126 score. The Wayne golf coach Josh Johnson commented, "Some really good golf is being played in the area, that is for sure!" "This was not our best showing again today. However I am confident we will put all these personal bests scores together and have one great end to our season. As I tell the girls, the best is yet to come and all these meets leading up are simply preparing us for what really matters . . . districts," said Coach Belmer.
