O'Neill's Autumn Hilker goes up for a block in action last week against Boyd Co. The O'Neill Lady Eagles were busy this past week competing in two volleyball triangulars and an invite.
On Tuesday, Sept. 21, the Eagles faced off with Creighton and the Summerland Bobcats.
The girls downed Creighton in two sets, winning both by a score of 25-17.
Wreece Liewer led the Eagles with 11 kills, 25 digs and one ace serve, Autumn Hilker seven kills, three blocks and two digs, Olivia Young three kills and eight digs, Ashley Sidak three kills, one block and five digs and Madisyn Hilker one kill, one ace serve and 15 digs.
The Summerland Bobcats were a little tougher with the Eagles losing in three sets, 23-25, 25-9 and 15-25.
Liewer led the Eagles with 14 kills and 20 digs, Sidak 14 kills and five digs, Autumn Hilker five kills, one ace serve and ten digs, Olivia Young three kills and 14 digs, Kelsey Chavez 23 set assists and Madisyn Hilker two set assists.
On Thursday, the Lady Eagles faced off against Wayne and Hartington in a triangular.
The Eagles won over Cedar Catholic 29-27 and 25-15.
Liewer led the Eagles with 11 kills, three blocks and 12 digs, Autumn Hilker five kills, two blocks and seven digs, Sidak four kills and seven digs, Young four kills, one ace serve and six digs, Madisyn Hilker one kill, six digs and three set assists and Chavez 19 set assists.
The Eagles played the Wayne Blue Devils tough, losing 17-25 and 18-25.
Liewer led the Eagles with seven kills, one block and 18 digs, Sidak three kills, one ace serve and four digs, Autumn Hilker one kill, two blocks and 13 digs, Madisyn Hilker one kill, one ace serve, 13 digs and two set assists and Chavez 10 set assists.
On Saturday, the Eagles competed in the Elkhorn Valley Invite.
The Eagles went three sets with Boyd Co losing the first set 21-25 and winning the next two 25-20 and 25-20.
Liewer had 16 kills and 23 digs, Young four kills, two ace serves and ten digs, Sidak three kills, one ace serve, one block, one set assist and ten digs, Autumn Hilker two kills, one ace serve, one block and six digs, Sydney Young one kill, two ace serves and two digs, Madisyn Hilker one kill, three ace serves, four set assists and 17 digs and Chavez 19 set assists.
The Lady Eagles faced the Elkhorn Valley Falcons and won in a tight match 25-22 and 25-21.
Liewer had 13 kills, three ace serves, two blocks and 15 digs, Autumn Hilker four kills, two blocks and 11 digs, Sidak three kills and seven digs, Young three kills, one ace serve and ten digs, Autumn Hilker four kills, two blocks and 11 digs, Madisyn Hilker three ace serves, 15 digs and 1 set assist and Chavez 19 set assists.
The Eagles then faced Battle Creek and went three sets ending up just short of the win. The Eagles won the first set 25-16 and then dropped the next two, 21-25 and 15-25.
