Lady Cards Lose Win Streak To Summerland In Away Game

The St. Mary's lady Cardinals faced a tough Summerland Bobcats team last week and fell 50-37. The Cards put up a good effort but the Bobcats were too overwhelming.

Quarter one didn't see too much scoring, but the Bobcats did get an early advantage of two points, winning 8-6. In the next, the Bobcats were able to pull ahead by just one point, showing the Cardinals were surely a formidable opponent.

Third quarter was another minor victory for the Bobcats, and the Cardinals would have to play some good basketball if they were to make up the few lost points. Unfortunately for the Cards, this would not be the case. They trailed further by seven points in the final stretch of the game, leaving the Bobcats 13 points ahead to win the game 50-37.

The Cards were overwhelmed and some of their best shooters had an off night with Alissa Brabec only getting six points on the night, shooting 13 percent. The Bobcat defense also put a hurt to Mya Hedstrom's point total, holding her to 10 points through the match.

Lorissa Reiman was at the top with 14 points, shooting six of 12 two-pointers for 50 percent. Reiman also had 15 rebounds; Mya Hedstrom had 10 points, three rebounds and four steals; Annabelle Barlow seven points, one rebound and four steals; Alissa Brabec six points, two rebounds and four steals; and Adyson Peterson three rebounds and one steal.
