After a week-long hiatus, the Cardinal girls took to the court once again Monday, Dec. 29 for a final game of 2025. They traveled to Norfolk Catholic for their first match. An unsatisfying 9-9 opening left both teams yearning for more. It was the Knights who broke the mold first, with the Cardinals now being forced to try to catch back up. The Knights continued to pressure their visitors until the final quarter where the Cards got back on track. After being continually put down, the Cards bit back in the finale but fell just short of the comeback. In the devastating ending, the Cards were cut down 50-49. Gracie Williamson killed it with 19 points, 12 rebounds and three steals; Adyson Peterson had 12 points, three rebounds and two steals; Tatum Ickes had six points and two rebounds; Cherish Williamson had five points and three rebounds; and Emerson Mlnarik had four points, two rebounds and one steal. SMH 9 11 14 15 49 NCHS 9 14 16 11 50 In the second game of the tourney the Cards fell to Battle Creek 51-43.
