The Stuart Lady Broncos basketball season officially started last Thursday night. The Lady Broncos traveled to Niobrara. The Lady Cougars were pre-season number 7. The Lady Broncos held tight for the first half, but the Lady Cougars pulled away in the second half. The final score was 61-41 in the Cougars favor. Sarah Wallinger led the way for the Lady Broncos scoring 15 points for the contest. Wallinger also grabbed five rebounds. Lacey Paxton and Reagan Stracke each had seven points and Sydney Estill and Addison Steinhauser had six points. Steinhauser led the team in rebounds with six. The Lady Broncos were home on Friday night as they hosted Central Valley. It was close for the whole game but the Lady Broncos held on at the end for a 36-34 win. Lacey Paxton led the way with 17 points. Paxton also had six steals. Reagan Stracke had 10 points and led the team with seven steals. Sydney Estill had four points and five rebounds and Cecelia Addison hit a clutch free throw towards the end of the game to put the Lady Broncos up two with seconds remaining. The Lady Broncos will have a busy week this week as they travel to Bloomfield, host Twin Loup Friday night and travel to Cody on Saturday.
