June Pitzel Retzlaff

June Pitzel Retzlaff, age 93, of Norfolk, formerly of Lynch and O'Neill, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk.

There are no memorial services scheduled.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the O'Neill Cemetery.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is handling the arrangements.

June was born on June 19, 1918, in Omaha to Paul and Lydia (Treka) Engel. She married John Pitzel on Feb. 24, 1943, in Omaha. John died July 13, 1990.

June enjoyed being a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society. She married Gilbert Retzlaff on July 18, 1991, in O'Neill. Gilbert died Dec. 26, 2007.

She is survived by daughter, Suzanne McPherson and husband, Alan of Ames; son, Martin Pitzel of Omaha; and niece, Heather Pitzel of Littleton, CO.

She was preceded by her parents; two husbands; three sisters and four brothers.
