Santa Cruz, CA — Juliann May French, 64, of Santa Cruz, CA, died unexpectedly in Santa Maria, CA on Oct. 3, 2022. A celebration of life service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 at the Mission Plaza Park in Santa Cruz, CA. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022at Faith Presbyterian in Valley Village, CA with a reception following. A gathering will be held at a later date in Lincoln. Juliann was the proud mother of Mikaila Kaiser and daughter of Patricia and Merwyn French Jr., formerly of Page. She graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1976 and the Eastman School of Music in 1981. Juliann enjoyed a long career as a studio and symphonic violinist in Hollywood. She performed on the soundtracks of many recordings, movies and jingles. She toured with Streisand, Yanni and others. The ensembles in which she played included; American Ballet Theater, L.A. Master Chorale, Hollywood Bowl, plus Long Beach, Pasadena and other area orchestras. Her sparkling personality made her a beloved colleague. Juliann is survived by her daughter; her mother; and three sisters Stephanie Stauffer of Morton, IL, Sheila (Scott) Stauffer of Andover, KS and Allison (Robert) Montgomery of Washington, IL. She was proceeded in death by her beloved father and one brother-in-law Randy Stauffer.
