Omaha — Judy Kay Coventry, 84, of Omaha, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2026 at The Oaks Nursing Home in Central City.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Inman Cemetery in Inman. Rev. Mike Durre will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy was born Feb. 14, 1941 in Wayne, to Earl and Mamie (Isom) Fitch. She grew up in Carroll for a time, before her family moved to Norfolk. She attended Norfolk High School. Judy graduated with the class of 1959.

After high school, Judy attended Norfolk Junior College for business. She later moved to Omaha and started working for the Social Security Administration and then got a job at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha.  

She met and married Dick Coventry in Omaha on Oct. 14, 1961. They made their forever home in Omaha. Judy later worked for Carrier Commercial Service from 1970 until she retired in 2005. 

Judy loved playing pool, spending time on the lake and also enjoyed water skiing. She also enjoyed oil painting. Judy was a gifted China Painter. She won a lot of awards for doing so and even had some of her work on display at the Porcelain Art Museum in Oklahoma City.

Judy was a member of the Omaha Pool Association and a member of the Brush and Palette Club of Council Bluffs, Iowa. 

Judy is survived by her nieces and nephews Joe (Brandi) Coventry of Cedar Creek, MN, Bryan (Shelly) Coventry and Ken Coventry, all of Casper WY, Jim Coventry of Inman, Kari Pierson of St. Paul, Coni (Richie) Meyer of Page, Candi (Jason) Schindler of Creighton, Kathy (Dean) Meharg of Central City, Rick (Carolyn) Harmeier of Norfolk, Bob (Sheri) Harmeier of Commerce, Texas, Kevin (Marge) Goestch of Stanton and Kirk (Annie) Goestch of Norfolk.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Mamie Fitch, her husband Dick Coventry, her two sisters Anitadel (Merlin) Harmeier and Earlene Goestch, her one brother Joel “Buzz” Fitch, her nephew Jason Fitch, father-in-law and mother-in-law Ken (Mary Ellen) Coventry and brothers- and sisters-in-law,- Ron (Lavonne) Coventry and Bob (Patsy) Coventry.
