Jonathan Standlea

Burwell — Jonathan Hale Standlea, 39, of Burwell, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021 after a short illness.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Ord Memorial Chapel in Ord is in charge of arrangements.

Jon was born on March 13, 1982, at the St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island to Robert and Kendelyn (Graves) Standlea. He grew up in the Taylor, O’Neill, Butte and Sargent areas where he also received his education.

Upon graduation he continued his education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and received a bachelor degree in social services. 

Jon worked in Lincoln for several years in the social service field and in 2011, moved to Scotia. In 2017, he made his home in Burwell and worked as a clerk at the Pump and Pantry.

Jon was a quiet person who enjoyed reading and watching movies.

Jon is survived by his mother Kendelyn Malmstrom, one brother Wayne, one niece Rozalynne, two nephews Robert and Gabrial Standlea and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert in 1996, his stepfather William Malmstrom, his grandparents Alvin and Mary Lea Standlea and George and Lottie Graves and his step-grandparents Lyle and Maxine Malmstrom.
