Neosho, MO — Joe Edson Andrews, 73, of Neosho, MO, formerly of Valentine and Bassett, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024.

Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 18, 2024 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, MO.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024 at the funeral home chapel in Neosho, MO.

Burial was in the Gibson Cemetery in Neosho, MO.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Joe was born on Jan. 7, 1951, in Valentine, one of six children to Joe and Wilma (Gale) Andrews. He entered into rest on Nov. 12, 2024, in Neosho, MO, at the age of 73, after a long courageous battle with cancer. 

Joe graduated from Rock County High School in Bassett and then from the University of Nebraska with a degree in agriculture economics.  

He resided in Nebraska, where he owned and operated a cattle ranch in Rock County, until moving to the southwest Missouri area in the fall of 2010.

In addition to ranching, he worked as an enumerator for the USDA. He enjoyed working on his ranch, gardening, his cattle and visiting with family and friends. 

On Jan. 27, 1996, in Deadwood, SD, Joe and Karen L. (Wetzel) were united in marriage and Karen survives.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters Jody Hagerty of North Liberty, Iowa, Marie Corral and Angela (Eric)  Townsend, all of Mesa, AZ; one grandson Brody Hagerty; his parents Joe and Wilma Andrews of Bassett; his five siblings Terry Andrews of Erickson, Debra Vonheeder of Ainsworth, Kristi Thornberg of Bassett, Becky Lucht and Sheri Gann, both of Ainsworth; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
