Joan Mary Turner, 82, of O'Neill, died early Monday, March 30, 2026 at her home in Elkhorn with her family by her side.

Memorial visitation was held Tuesday, March 7, 2026 with a parish rosary at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. Attendees were encouraged to wear blue or striped tops to the services.

Burial was in the O'Neill Calvary Cemetery in O'Neill.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Joan's name.

Joan was born on April 21, 1943, in Carroll, Iowa to Alvin and Teresa (Ziegmann) Reising. She graduated from Omaha Central High School.  

Joan married Gene Turner on April 20, 1963, as a teenage bride for one day. To this union four children were born.

Joan was a homemaker, a quilter and a crafter who traveled and sold her hand made creations at craft fairs, she loved making memory bears. She also worked part-time at the sale barn and loved meeting new people while working there.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the St. Patrick's Altar Society where she worked many funeral dinners. Joan was also a member of Right to Life and a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

Joan is survived by her four children Pam (Gaylord) Brockemeirer of Wisner, Kim (Randy) Atkins of Pierce, Steve (Gloria) Turner of Omaha and Jenny (Jim) Kuhfahl of Elkhorn; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters Mary Parks of Kansas City, Teresa Mencke of Blair and Carol McGinley of Mansfield, Texas; and a brother Dennis Reising of Granite Falls, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents, two brothers Roger and Dale Reising, one sister Marilyn Beach, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, one son-in-law Glen Huber and three nephews.
