Omaha — JoAnn Knebel, 93, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2022. Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022 at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha. Funeral services were held Thurday, Aug. 18, 2022 at the mortuary. Burial was in the Woodbine Cemetery in Woodbine, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. JoAnn, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend went to be with the Lord on Aug. 12, 2022. She was born on Nov. 29, 1928 in Woodbine, Iowa, to James and Georgia Donaldson. JoAnn grew up in the Havelock area of Lincoln, graduating from Northeast High School in 1946. She was united in marriage on March 7, 1954 to Donald E. Knebel. They had two daughters Kathy and Nancy and lived on a family farm in Norfolk until 1967. They moved to Hastings and then to O'Neill in 1975. JoAnn happily worked a variety of administrative and bookkeeping positions, retiring in 2018 at the age of 88. She leaves behind to her family, and the many who knew her, a legacy of a life well lived, full of joy, kindness and endless love. JoAnn is survived by her husband Donald Knebel; two daughters Kathy Knebel and Nancy (Kent) Monk; three grandchildren Josh Benson, Abby (Zach) Olsen and Beth (Shane) May; and five great-grandchildren Tyler Zach, Colin May, Jack May, Ellie Olsen and Lizzy Olsen. She was preceded in death by one brother James Donaldson Jr., one sister Wilma Taddicken and one great-granddaughter Emma Jo Olsen.
