Prosper, Texas — Jeanne Dugan, 95, of Prosper, Texas, formerly of O'Neill, died Friday, May 26, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Papillion.

Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Jeanne's name.

Jeanne was born on April 25, 1928 in Omaha to Charles and Irma Petersen. She was the fifth of six children sharing her childhood with her siblings Fred, Tootie, Bill, Rosie and Pete.

Jeanne graduated from St. Cecilia's Cathedral High School in Omaha in 1936.  

Jeanne married Jim Dugan in 1952 in Omaha. To this union they had six children, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Throughout her early life she worked at Mutual of Omaha and Creighton University.  

They moved to O'Neill in 1966 where they owned Dugan's Shamrock Bar.  

After selling the bar, she worked at various grocery stores as their bookkeeper. She retired in 2005.  

In 2010 Jeanne and Jim moved to Prosper, Texas.

Jeanne was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill and St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas. She was a member of St. Patrick's Altar Society.

She will be forever remembered as a loving mother with a strong Catholic faith, she was a hard-working and determined lady with a savvy business acumen. In her younger years, she enjoyed her ladies card club, church activities and her weekly bowling team.  

In retirement, she could be found making new friends, playing games, volunteering and attending daily mass at St. Gabriel's.  

Jeanne had a meticulous sense of fashion and frequently wore bright, bold colors with coordinating accessories!

Jeanne is survived by four children Diane (Ted) Dugan Fritton of Omaha, Tim (Kathy) Dugan of Huntsville, Texas, Tom (Carrie) Dugan of Spring, Texas and Denise (Mike) Dugan Burkey of Aubrey, Texas; her nine grandchildren Meghan, Casey, Kelly, Julie, Emily, Joseph, Kelsey, Kimberly and Patrick; and her 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents Charles and Irma, all of her siblings, one son Daniel, one daughter Theresa Dusatko, one grandchild Michael and one great-grandson Carter Fritton.
