Butte — Jean L. Reiman, 82, of Butte, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at her residence in Butte.

Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Butte with a wake service.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at the church in Butte. Fr. Ross Burkhalter officiated.

Burial was in the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Butte.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer was in charge of the arrangements.

Jean was born Feb. 25, 1940, to Andrew and Johanna (Deermer) Moeller in Atkinson. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children.

Jean grew up north of Stuart and graduated from St. Joe's High School in 1957. 

She worked a short time in Omaha and Atkinson before meeting the love of her life, Gerald “Jack” Reiman. Six months later they were united in holy matrimony on Nov. 16, 1959. This union was blessed with eight children. Together Jean and Jack lived and raised their family along the Keya Paha River for 53 years until moving to Butte in 2012.

Jean will always be remembered most for her homemade bread, fried chicken and pie baking skills. No one was a stranger at her house as she always had the coffee pot on or would add an extra plate on the table at mealtime. Jean was always busy cooking, cleaning or caring for others.

Jean is survived by her seven children Ellen (Steve) Boshart and Milton Reiman, all of O'Neill, Matthew Reiman of Butte, Lawrence (Jane) Reiman of O'Neill, Casey (Lisa) Reiman of Butte, David (Dee) Reiman of Naper and Jeanne (Brian) Tagel of Springfield; three sisters Carol (James) Peters of Lincoln, Dianne (James) Shoemaker of O'Neill and Betty Dobrovolny of Atkinson; one brother Terry Moeller; one sister-in-law Marge Moeller of Schuyler; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three very dear friends Darlene Lechtenberg, Linda Zeisler and Cindy Schroeltlin; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Jack, one son Timothy Gerald, her parents Andrew and Johanna Moeller, one sister Joan Meusch, two brothers Jerry and Roger Moeller, her parent-in-laws Lawrence and Helen Reiman and two brothers-in-law Raymond Meusch and Stan Dobrovolny.
