Jean Ardith Pease, 81, of O'Neill, died Monday, May 8, 2023 at West Holt Medical Services in Atkinson.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.

Jean was born on May 6, 1942 in O'Neill to Alfred W. and Lois Ann (Kuhler) Martens. 

She married Merle W. Pease on Jan. 28, 1961 in Tyndall, SD. The two divorced on Nov. 25, 2002.

Jean is survived by three sons Scott Pease of Novelty, MO, Zane (Shannon) Pease of Stuart and Clint (Mary) Pease of Emmet; five grandchildren Shaleena (Sam) Elsberry, Cole Pease, Grant Pease, Jessica Pease (Dakota Divine) and Collin Weidner; six great-grandchildren Lane and Cabela Murray, Teegen Tim, Rip Elsberry, Kasey Hiatt and Kinsley Divine; two sisters Jaqueline A. (Malcolm) Cole of Rome, NY, and Shelley Z. Martens of London, England; and one brother, Bryan W. Martens of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Jocelyn I. Martens and Jaralyn A. Martin, one brother Thomas D. Martens, one sister-in-law Elsie Martens and one brother-in-law Malcolm Cole.
