Janet I. Fryrear

Janet I. Fryrear, age 90, of Tilden, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at the Tilden Community Hospital in Tilden.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.

Memorial services were held on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden with John Petersen officiating and providing music. 

Honorary pallbearers were all of Janet's past students.

Burial was in the Tilden City Cemetery.

Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden was in charge of arrangements.

Janet (Foss) Fryrear, daughter of Henry and Madge (Radke) Foss, was born April 2, 1922, on the family farm south of Tilden. 

Janet graduated from Tilden High School with the class of 1939. She received her teaching degree from Dana College. Janet touched many lives during her 40 years of teaching in Holt, Antelope and Madison counties.

She loved her Savior and she led many Bible stories using flannel  graphs at the Neligh Nursing Center and in church Sunday school. She took pride in her yard and garden and enjoyed canning and giving produce to friends and neighbors.

Janet is survived by her sister-in-law, Sylvia Foss of Stevensville, MT, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Norman Foss and Harold Foss; sister-in-law, Irene Foss and a niece, Diane Renoe.
