James Lee Lunn, 71, of O'Neill, died Sunday, May 14, 2023 at his home in O'Neill.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.
Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.
James was born Sept. 2, 1951 in Burke, SD to Kenneth and Hazel (Chambers) Lunn. He attended Bonesteel High School where he loved to play football. He graduated in 1971.
James married Kerri Hotz in O'Neill in 1975. To this union one daughter Nicole was born. They later divorced.
He later married Rhonda Buxton in 1983 in O'Neill. To this union, two children were born Bridget and Travis. The two later divorced in 1989.
James married Norma Farewell and they later divorced.
James was engaged to Vicki Walton until her death in 2012.
After high school, James worked at National Farms near Atkinson, and then Dale Electronics in Yankton, SD. He then returned to O'Neill and worked at Herd Co until he retired in 2017.
When James wasn't working, he enjoyed watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, watching westerns, mainly John Wayne, and doing word searches.
James is survived by his daughter Bridget Sidak of Gregory, SD; four grandchildren Desiree Williams, Jamie Schrader, MaKayla Schrader and Gage Lunn; one great-grandchild; five siblings Mark (Ginny) Lunn of Maine, Ralph (Jo) Lunn of Burke, SD, and Linda Lunn, Annie (Vern) Borgstrom and Barb Lunn, all of Yankton, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Travis Lunn in 2008, one brother Henry Lunn and his fiancé Vicki Walton.
