Date: May 8, 2025 The Holt County Weed Board met in regular session. This meeting was publicized pursuant to Section 84-1411 R.R.S, 1943. Notice of meeting given in advance thereof by publication in paper as shown by Affidavit of Publication on KBRX May 5th, 2025, on the radio. Dan Pribil convened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. and informed the public of the location of the Open Meeting Poster. The meeting started at 7:00 P.M. Present: Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Dan Pribil, Caleb Ross, Kevin DeKay, Supervisor Dustin Breiner and Weed Superintendent William Babutzke. Minutes Approved: Tom Welsh made a motion to approve the minutes and Kevin DeKay seconded. All approved Claims Approved: Dustin Breiner made a motion to approve the claims and Dan Drueke seconded. All approved. Claims pre-approved Black Hills Energy, Fusion and Nebraska Public Power District. Bills are not here yet. Caleb Ross made a motion to approve, and Tom Welsh seconded. All approved. Old Business N/A New Business: Due to Jennifer Koenig retirement, the Weed Department will be hiring a new part-time secretary. The board discussed the duties and new wage for the new part-time secretary. Facebook: For educational purposes, the Weed Department is interested in possibly having a page about weed information, chemicals, bugs, news articles, Links and activities going on. The board reviewed the inspection reports. Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge.
