Date: November 7, 2024 The Holt County Weed Board met in regular session. This meeting was publicized pursuant to Section 84-1411 R.R.S, 1943 Notice of meeting given in advance thereof by publication on radio as shown by Affidavit of Publication on KBRX November 4th on the radio. John Hammerlun convened the meeting at 6:00 P.M. and informed the public of the location of the Open Meeting Poster. The meeting started at 6:00 P.M. Present: Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Kevin DeKay, Dan Pribil, John Hammerlun, Supervisor Dustin Breiner and Weed Superintendent William Babutzke. Guest: Supervisor Duane Neiman Minutes Approved: Dustin Breiner made a motion to approve the minutes and Dan Pribil seconded. All approved. Claims Approved: Dan Pribil made a motion to approve the claims and preapprove two claims, NPPD and KBRX, that have not yet arrived in the mail. Tom Welsh seconded and all approved. Old Business / N/A New Business: Shredding was slow at first but has now picked up. In District 7 now and will move to District 6. Trevor Johnson called November 7, asking how our Office Evaluation went in October, unfortunately, we did not have one from our Nebraska Department of Agriculture, Nick Wordekemper. An investigation is in the process. Sick Leave: Supervisor Dustin Breiner made a motion to approve the donation of 2-week sick leave if needed on the approval of the supervisors to a road employee, Dan Pribil seconded all approved. Supervisor Duane Nieman visited with the board on tree spraying. After the discussion Bill Babutzke will visit with the road employees on chemical use and PPE (Proper Protection Equipment). Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge. Next meeting will be December 12th, at 6:00 PM at the Holt County Weed Office. Dan Drueke made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Dan Pribil seconded. All approved. The meeting adjourned at 7:09 pm.
