Helen Patricia Bohn, 84, of O'Neill, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023 at Arbor Care Center in O'Neill.

Memorial visitation was held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 at the church in O'Neill. Fr. Bernard Starman officiated.

A private burial will be held at a later date in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Schools in O'Neill in Helen's name.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of the arrangements.

Helen was born in O'Neill on March 13, 1939 to James and Neva (Stark) Sobotka. She attended St. Mary's Academy for a couple of years and then graduated from Inman High School in 1957.

She worked for Dr. Sutcliffe as a dental assistant in O'Neill, until she married Maxwell Bohn after he returned from the U.S. Army. They welcomed two children Mike and John. 

Helen worked various jobs as her family grew.

After Max passed in 2009, Helen moved to Omaha. She later returned to O'Neill in 2022.

Helen was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, growing flowers, reading, cooking and baking. She and Max loved to travel, preferring to drive, all across the United States.

Helen is survived by two sons Michael (Shelley) Bohn of Des Moines, Iowa and Fr. John Bohn of Jackson, MS; three grandchildren Christina Bohn, Andrew Bohn and Emma Bohn; and her sister Mary Lou Stauffer of Valentine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max Bohn in 2009 and one brother Warren Sobotka.
