Guy L. Reynolds

Inman — Guy LeRoy Reynolds, 80, of Inman, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026 at Accura Healthcare in O'Neill after a lengthy and courageous battle with lung cancer. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 at the Inman Community Hall in Inman followed by a luncheon and a time of fellowship.

Private family burial services will be held at the Inman Cemetery in Inman.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Guy was born on May 22, 1945 in Tilden, to Albert and Dorothy (Hull) Reynolds. He graduated from Inman High School as a member of the final class to ever graduate from the school. He continued his education at Nebraska Vocational Technical School in Milford, where he earned a certificate in building construction.

After completing his training, Guy joined his father in the family business until his father's passing in 1973. He then established his own construction business, beginning a long and respected career building and remodeling countless structures throughout the area.

  Thanks to meeting a new friend, Jack Winters, Guy met Jack's sister, Ida “Mick” Winters. He often said that from the moment he saw her, he knew she would one day be his wife. They were married in 1963 at Christ Lutheran Church in O'Neill and went on to raise three children—Bert, Michele and Cherie. Guy and Mick celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Dec. 30.

Guy was deeply committed to the Inman community. Over the years, he served as Inman Village Clerk, Fire Chief, Township Clerk and took great care in marking graves at the cemetery. After retiring, he devoted his time to the family ranch, raising Angus cattle and spent several years as a dedicated caregiver to his mother.

Guy is survived by his wife of 62 years Ida “Mick” Reynolds of Inman; his three children Bert (Candace) Reynolds of Blackhawk, SD, Michele Reynolds of Enid, OK, and Cherie (James) Averill of Lincoln; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister Nyla (Bob) Mosel of O'Neill; one brother-in-law Larry Summers of O'Neill; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Johnson, father Albert Reynolds, grandparents Guy and Lila Hull and Bert and Cora Reynolds, one sister Sharlene Summers, father- and mother-in-law John F. and Ida Winters and one brother-in-law John “Jack” W. Winters.
