A total of 24 teams faced off during the ninth annual Avera St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation golf tournament to raise money for patient care needs at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital. The event was held July 29 at the O'Neill Country Club. “We were very pleased with all the people who came out on a summer night to support the patients of Avera St. Anthony's Hospital by helping us raise funds for equipment,” said Russ McIntosh, a member of the Foundation board. “It takes a community to make our health care ministry successful, and we are grateful for their contributions to the work of our caregivers.” Thanks to the many sponsors and participants, approximately $8,000 was collected. Funds raised during the event will help with the purchase of life-saving Emergency Department equipment used for rapid blood transfusion and lab testing. The Reiser Insurance team, consisting of Mark Mahony, Mike Hammerlun, Jared Hammerlun and Nate Prouty, had the winning team this year. In an exciting turn of events, Prouty also made his first hole-in-one on the first hole with his team watching. (0) COMMENTSWelcome to the discussion.
