Genevieve V. Sandall

Genevieve V. Sandall, age 93, of O'Neill, passed away early Sunday morning, Dec. 9, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter in O'Neill.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with Pastor Mike Durre officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pam Kubart, Kurt Sandall, Lisa Keyes, Keith Sandall and her great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery in Bassett.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill is in charge of arrangements.

Genevieve Vernice Janak was born on Oct. 3, 1919, at Woodlake to Frank and Clara (Fosterman) Janak. She attended School District #172 northwest of Stuart.

She met Julian Sandall and they were married Jan. 9, 1943, in Colorado Springs, CO. They farmed northwest of Stuart until moving to O'Neill in 1970. Julian passed away on April 20, 2007.

Genevieve was a typical farm wife who could often be found at Julian's side, helping out around the farm. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed canning. Her kids and grand kids were the light of her life and she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Lonnie Sandall and wife, Sandra of Norfolk and one daughter, Loraine Melcher and husband, Tom of Tekamah; three grandchildren: Pam Kubart and husband, Jim of Atkinson, Kurt Sandall and wife, Sally of Wisner, Tina Sandall of O'Neill and Lisa Keyes and husband, Kevin of Grapevine, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; one grandson, Steven Sandall and one sister, Mabel Bernt.

Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
