Gail Ann Grenier, 68, of O'Neill, formerly of Chambers, died Tuesday, April 9, 2023. Memorial visitation was held Monday, April 15, 2024 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Memorial services were hled Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. Burial will be in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Gail was born Oct. 7, 1955 to John and Dorothy (Morsett) Sicheneder in Atkinson. She grew up north of Atkinson and attended Brush Creek Country School. In 1963, when she was eight, her family purchased the family farm, west of Chambers and then she attended Chambers Public School. Gail enjoyed playing volleyball and was active in 4-H. She then graduated in 1974. After graduation, Gail worked at Buzzy's Jalopy in O'Neill. In October of 1974, Gail met Frank Grenier on a blind date. The couple later married on April 26, 1975 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill. To this union three children were born Jesse, Luke and Chet. Gail then worked at the O'Neill Sale Barn Café. The family moved into Chambers in 1988, to her parent's farm. Gail started working for the Chambers Public School as a cook in 1992, and after 15 years, she retired in 2007. Over the years the couple fostered 30 foster children and hosted two foreign exchange students. In 1988, she became the superintendent at the Holt County Fairgrounds. Gail also volunteered at the Holt County Fair for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, tatting and leatherwork. She also enjoyed genealogy and learning about her family history. Gail especially enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and visiting with her friends and she also enjoyed attending many auctions. Gail loved cooking and canning many goods. Gail was a member of the Chamber Legion Auxiliary and also served as the president. Gail is survived by her husband of 49 years Frank Grenier of O'Neill; her three children Jesse (Marlene) Grenier of Wisner, Luke (Jennifer) Grenier of Fremont and Chet Grenier of O'Neill; five grandchildren Hannah Grenier, Hailey Grenier, Kolby Grenier, Rachel Grenier and Harper Grenier; four step-grandchildren, Catherine Ganzel, Ellie Johnson, Alexandra Beeson and Joseph Beeson; five step-great-grandchildren Charlotte Ganzel, Kellen Ganzel, Holden Ganzel, Cecilia Ganzel and Ruby Johnson; her brother Dale (Sherry) Sicheneder of Chambers; and two nephews Isaiah (Kate) Sicheneder and Riley (Katie) Sicheneder. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Dorothy Sicheneder, stepfather John Welsh, her niece Emily Sicheneder and her nephew Joshua Sicheneder.
